new place

The pictures aren't the best (we were turning lights on and off, etc.), but they are better/more than the ones on the realtor's website, so here we go...

Sorry, didn't get one of the front of the house, but here are the front steps.

One side of the front porch...

And the other side.

Here is the inside of the front door and the kitchen/living room

The living room side.

Better picture of the living room and fireplace.  I apparently didn't get a picture of it, but off the right edge of this picture is a side door and coat closet.

Here is the hallway (this is from the living room, you can see down the hall from near the front door)
The accordion doors on the left open to the washer and dryer.

Bathroom #1

Eleanor's room (most likely).

Wyatt's room (again, most likely).

Linen closet.

Guest room/office/craft room with doors onto back patio.

Master bedroom with doors off to back patio.

Master bath (I couldn't get it all in, but there are actually 2 sinks).

Back porch.

View from master bedroom side of back porch to parking space and little raised bed garden.

Extra storage room (which seems like too much - you'll see why in the next picture).  We'll find out if this is really for us or for the upstairs.

Because this is our garage.  It goes the whole length of the house!

And in the front of the house, under the porch and stairs, is more space!  Our realtor said she's never seen anything like this.

**Blog move**

When one door closes, another one opens...

Hello all!  The blog has moved.

You can now find me at www.sunrisefolk.blogspot.com .

The Indie Business class I recently finished has motivated me to get moving on starting my own business.  Originally I was going to go with the name Fellow Creatures.  When I did some digging, however, I found the name was already taken (by a very nice looking animal adoption agency!).  So, it was back to the drawing board.

It needed to be something that fit me and fit the feel of what my business will be.  My husband helped me go through the 20 little scraps of paper I had accumulated with ideas on them, and we came up with:

Sunrise Folk

I love it, and I hope you do too!  For the ease of keeping things "together", I switched the blog to the new name, opened an Etsy shop with the same name (items coming soon!) and have an e-mail at sunrisefolkcreations@gmail.com where I can also be reached.

The first steps have been taken and I can't wait to follow where this journey leads!  I hope you'll join me along the way.

Blessings

A paper tree for your Tuesday...

I love trees.

This is an album I spruced up awhile back.

Not sure what it was originally supposed to house,
but it has become the home of some very special little 'tid-bits'.

In downsizing/moving my craft stash to make room for the Little One on the way, I went through all my fabric.  I picked out the scraps (sometimes big) that had a special meaning/memory for me.  It seems like I've been hoarding some of these because I can't bear to let them go!

So, I decided to cut little swatches of them and store them in a memory book.  It's amazing to me that I can look at a scrap of polka dot material and remember exactly when and where I bought it, what I made with it and who I shared it with!

I have bits of my mom's old nightgowns that I used make doll blankets and some pieces I remember using with my Grandma to make dolls and embellish clothes for me.

Now, I feel liberated to use the rest of these fabrics for projects because I know I still have a piece of them safe with me.  Hopefully these fabric pieces will pass on all the love and care and years that are stored up in them.

Blessings to you!

Cloth Diaper Cake

My mom was here for a lovely visit and baby shower last weekend.  She had never been to a baby shower, but she put together all the games and did the decorations and it was a wonderful time!

One of her gifts to us was this diaper cake.  We're going to use cloth diapers, so she included a "layer" of those, as well as bright little towels, a cozy blanket, itty bitty spoons (for 'candles') and pinwheels!

How fun is that?!?!?

Thanks Mom!  We had a great visit!

It's a work in progress...

This blog, that is.

Thanks for your patience as I fiddle!

Indie Biz Notebook

The divider pages and notebook

Supplies and pocket (with name yet to be discovered!)

The notebook had some manufacturing text on it - the front bit was covered up with the title (Indie Biz) and the inside back cover now has this little reminder.  It may be the end of the class (sad day!), but it is just the beginning on this journey.

My mom is in town for a visit/baby shower.  We're off to finish getting ready!  I'll post some pictures (look forward to a super cute diaper cake!).

Embroidery work 2

Wow, sorry it's been so long! I'm not sure where the time has gone...

Since the last post, I've started the Indie Biz 2.0 class with Leigh-Ann, Jill and Elsie. I am LOVING it, getting great info from it and it's making me think! I've set some goals for myself with this class, by the time I've 'graduated' I will:

Be blogging consistently
Have opened my own Etsy store
Be an bonafide Indie Business-lady!

I've been working on some new projects...to put in my Etsy store (!) when it opens...so more on those soon!!

Back to embroidery -

These are a few panels of a wall hanging I did for friends when their daughter was born. Her room has a Peter Rabbit theme!

The patterns for the embroidery came from coloring book pages I found on-line. There are so many great ones out there and coloring books are a great source for embroidery because they usually have such solid, clean lines that make them so easy to trace.

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!
Blessings -
